Fans will appreciate the live effort to round out the reissues

‘Ain't No Jive – Live’ is the last piece in the recently re-issued Bang Tango puzzle by the folks over at Metal Mind Productions. This is a quick sneak peek of the guys in action, live, and is only five tracks long and was recorded, I believe, at The Marquee in Westminster, California in 1992.

This album gives listeners a taste of what they might have heard had they gone to see Bang Tango live in concert. It features two songs from their debut ‘Psycho Café ‘and two from the follow up album ‘Dancin' on Coals’. Their cover of Bolan’s ‘20th Century Boy’ also appears here, and can also be found on the reissue of ‘Dancin’ on Coals’.

Bluesy, powerful ballad, ‘Midnight Struck’ is definitely my favourite, as it is on ‘Dancin’ on Coals’ but it’s hard to not like, and sing along to, perhaps their most famous song ‘Someone Like You’ which was made popular by MTV’s Headbangers Ball.

I would say that this reissue will probably appeal more to a music lover who is already familiar with the original recordings of Bang Tango as, despite them being good live, the album tracks are far superior. If you’re already a fan of the band, then definitely give it a go as it will allow you to relive that live experience – without the stale beer and sweaty armpits.
